Aland Irène Design is committed to exceptional craftsmanship, transparent communication, and long-lasting relationships with our customers. Each piece is handcrafted with intention, care, and artistry. By placing an order, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to the following policies.
1. Production Timelines
All jewelry is handcrafted to order unless explicitly listed as Ready to Ship.

Made-to-order items require up to 10 weeks for creation.

Some pieces may be completed as quickly as 2 weeks, depending on demand and waitlists.

Production timelines are estimates and may vary based on complexity and workload.

Production time does not include shipping time.
Rush Orders:
If available, rush production may be arranged for a $250 CAD fee. Rush availability must be confirmed prior to purchase and is not guaranteed.
2. Shipping Methods & Insurance
Standard shipping is free on all orders and includes tracking.
Insurance is not included and must be requested before the order ships.
Insurance costs vary by destination and order value.
Aland Irène Design is not responsible for:

Lost, stolen, or damaged packages

Carrier delays or misrouting

Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses provided by the buyer

Packages returned due to customs refusal
Buyers seeking full coverage must request insurance and signature confirmation prior to shipment.
3. International Customs, Duties & Brokerage Fees
International orders may be subject to import duties, VAT, taxes, or brokerage fees imposed by the destination country.
These fees are:

Customs delays do not qualify for cancellations, refunds, or chargebacks.
4. Returned Packages Due to Unpaid Fees
If a package is returned to Aland Irène Design because the buyer refused or failed to pay customs, import, or brokerage fees:

No refund will be issued for the item or original shipping costs.

The buyer must pay all re-shipping costs to have the item resent.

Re-shipping occurs only after all outstanding fees are paid in full.

If the buyer declines re-shipment, the item will be considered abandoned, with no refund provided.
5. Returns & Exchanges
Due to the handmade and custom nature of our jewelry, returns and refunds are not accepted.
Exchanges
Exchanges may be requested within 14 days of receipt, provided the item is returned in unworn, original condition.
Items showing wear may be subject to a 15% refurbishing fee.
Damage such as deep scratches, misshaping, bent settings, or chipped/lost gemstones will void exchange eligibility.
6. Custom & Made-to-Order Pieces
Custom designs and made-to-order jewelry are not eligible for return.
In rare and exceptional cases, an exchange may be considered only after discussion and evaluation of the piece.
Approval is not guaranteed and is at the sole discretion of Aland Irène Design.
7. Ring Sizing Policy
Aland Irène Design offers one complimentary ring sizing within the first 12 months of purchase, when structurally possible for the design.
Additional resizing or resizing after 12 months will incur a fee.
The buyer is responsible for all shipping and customs costs associated with sending the item for sizing.
8. Lifetime Cleaning
We are proud to offer lifetime complimentary professional cleaning and polishing.
No proof of purchase is required.
Shipping and any applicable customs fees are the buyer’s responsibility.
9. Lifetime Inspection
Annual inspections help maintain the structural integrity of your jewelry, especially gemstone settings.
Aland Irène Design offers free lifetime inspections.

10. Diamonds & Gemstones
All diamonds and gemstones are excluded from warranty.
Natural gemstones, including diamonds, can chip, crack, scratch, and fade due to everyday wear, environmental exposure, and impact. These occurrences are considered normal wear and tear.
Gemstones vary significantly in hardness and durability; it is the buyer’s responsibility to research gemstone suitability for daily wear prior to purchase.
11. Shipping Responsibilities for Services
For all services—including warranty assessments, cleaning, polishing, inspection, and resizing—the buyer is responsible for:

Shipping costs to send the item to the studio

Shipping costs to return the item

Any customs duties, taxes, or brokerage fees charged upon re-entry into Canada
Aland Irène Design is not responsible for packages lost, damaged, or stolen during transit.
Buyers are strongly encouraged to use trackable, insured shipping with signature confirmation.
12. Accuracy of Shipping Information
The buyer is responsible for providing accurate, complete shipping information.
Aland Irène Design is not liable for packages delayed, lost, or returned due to incorrect addresses.
Re-shipping fees will apply.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing from Aland Irène Design, the buyer acknowledges, understands, and agrees to all terms outlined in this Customer Care, Warranty & Policies document.
